FAQ

Q: When is Smash@Tech?

A: March 18th

Q: When should I arrive?

A: TBD

Q: How much are tickets?

A: Tickets are $5 per tournament entered, with a maximum of 4 tournaments per person. Tickets CANNOT be bought at the door, but can be bought up to 72 hours before the event on our Eventbrite.

Q: Do I need a ticket to spectate?

A: No. Tickets are only required for tournament play & drinks. If you want to come and spectate, there is no need to buy a ticket!

Q: Do I need to come with a team (for team games: CS:GO, LOL, DOTA, etc)?

A: You can, but it is not required. There will be a team creation session at the beginning of all team tournaments to meet teammates. However, we strongly recommend that you come with a team, as we can not guarantee you a spot as a free agent.

Q: Do I need to bring my own setup?

A: Yes. It depends on the game, but for most people asking this question, yes. Games like LOL, CS:GO, Dota, and Rocket League will require a setup per person. Fighting games will not require the player to bring their own setup, but if you do, we will waive your tournament registration fee.

Q: What parking is available?

A: Parking information will be coming soon. We are working on getting a discounted parking rate from Georgia Tech Parking.

Q: Can I play in multiple tournaments? Do I need to pay multiple times to play in multiple tournaments?

A: You may play in multiple tournaments, but it is up to you to be on time for your bracket and get all available information regarding your tournaments. If you are not present within 10 minutes of your match start, you will auto-forfeit that match.

Q: I’m not a Georgia Tech Student – is there anything I should be aware of?

A: Nothing is different for non-GT attendees, aside from internet access. Non-GT attendees will have to pay a daily rate of $1-$2 to access the wired/wireless internet.
